We invite an audience of different ages to enter the world of comic books and imagination! The exhibition ‘Let’s Revive Comic Books’ will be opened in the Mlin Cultural Station on Friday, 22 October, at 7 p.m.
During this interdisciplinary exhibition, which will last until 10 November, the comic books that children will create with the help of Zlatko Milenković, a cartoonist from the ‘Comic Book News’, Georg Redžek, an art pedagogue, and Ljubica Tankosić, an editor of the art programme of the Novi Sad Children’s Cultural Centre, will be presented. Ana Ilić, director, Jelena Galović, actress, Dragan Jajić Vladisavljev and Nebojša Šupić, circus pedagogues, worked on the ‘revival’ of comic books with children performers, participants of the ‘Cirkoneo’ circus school.
The ‘Let’s Revive Comic Books’ exhibition brings closer the imaginary world to the youngest citizens. The curated, interdisciplinary exhibition aims at presenting all aspects and parts of the artistic discipline, better known as the ‘ninth art’.
Broken into pieces, and put back together again, our animated way of presenting comic books is dedicated to children and young people who would like to learn how comic book works and what its characteristics are, by presenting all the elements in a completely new and unusual way.
The magic of the most diverse sounds that we cannot actually hear, movements that do not exist, strong wind blowing, but we cannot feel it, or comets we are not able to see, but we all know they do move – this is what can make the comic book one of the most interesting forms of the art practice.
We would like to explain what can be revived with only a line, a shadow or a cloud in the given comic box. These characteristics stimulate imagination and inspire.
