The second children’s art colony, implemented by the Novi Sad Children’s Cultural Centre, was held in the Mlin Cultural Station from 5 to 9 July.
Thirty children aged 6 to 14 worked with four mentors – art pedagogues: academic painters Marta Kiš Buterer and Georg Redžek, graduate artist-illustrator Maša Pavlović and graduate graphic artist Ljubica Tankosić.
The concept of the colony is based on the idea of implementing art techniques that are very little, or not at all, represented in the standard school curriculum. Every day, the children divided into age groups worked with another art pedagogue, and got acquainted with 16 art techniques and topics during the five days of the colony.
The results of the five-day gathering of children and mentors will be presented at the exhibition within the 38th summer ‘Raspustilište’, which will be officially opened in the gallery of the Mlin Cultural Station on Tuesday, 17 August at 7 p.m.
