Radionice kreativnog plesa za decu

The creative dance for children programme begins on 7 November in the Mlin Cultural Station, 20 Radnička Street.

Dates of the first open classes:

  • From 3 p.m. until 3:45 p.m. children up to 6 years of age
  • From 4 p.m. until 4:45 p.m. children 7-10 years of age
  • From 5 p.m. until 6 p.m. children older than 11 years of age

Creative dance is a programme that makes children fall in love with movement, music, art and expressing themselves creatively by learning different dance techniques in a noncompetitive atmosphere.

By dancing and having fun, we develop coordination, motor skills, flexibility, concentration, awareness of one’s own body and self-confidence to explore movement and express one’s thoughts and emotions through movement. By combining dance techniques and physical theatre, along with rhythm and music, children are given the opportunity to express their creativity, spontaneity and openness through guided improvisations.

By working in smaller and bigger groups and by exploring nonverbal communication, children are developing empathy and respect for diversity, while at the same time learning about teamwork and cooperation.

Come dance, create and do some serious work with us, in a fun way! The number of seats are limited, thus it’s necessary to apply via email [email protected] or phone number +381 63 54 23 78.

The programme moderator is Mia Inić, lecturer and choreographer at the O&M Academy of Fun and Arts – school for developing performing arts skills. She has been dancing since she was four years old, acquiring further professional training through various programmes abroad. Since 2012, Inić has been developing educational and cultural programmes for children in Novi Sad through her work in the Coolist Foundation. She has been part of the Pokretnica collective since 2014, while also cooperating with the Praktikabl platform of contemporary art and performance. Since 2015, she has been working actively in the field of creative dance for children through educational programmes in the Studio of Creative Dance and ‘Dens’ ensemble of the ‘Sokolsko’ Association of Vojvodina. She is one of the organisers of ‘Pokretnica’, one the first festivals of contemporary dance and performance in Novi Sad, and has been in PR since it was founded in 2017.
